NIMHANS Campus Tour

The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, traces its origins to the establishment of the Mysore Government Lunatic Asylum in 1847. It evolved into the All India Institute of Mental Health in 1954 and, following its integration with the Neurology and Neurosurgery Centre, became NIMHANS in 1974. In recognition of its outstanding contributions to patient care, education, and research, NIMHANS was declared an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament in 2012.

Conference delegates are invited to experience a 2-hour guided tour of the historic NIMHANS campus and learn about its rich legacy, pioneering contributions, and state-of-the-art clinical, academic, and research facilities.

Morning Yoga Sessions at NIMHANS

The Department of Integrative Medicine, NIMHANS is pleased to offer complimentary morning yoga sessions for interested registered conference participants. Sessions will be conducted daily throughout the four days of the conference, from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM, at the Yoga Hall, Department of Integrative Medicine, NIMHANS.

These guided sessions provide an introduction to Yoga, one of India's oldest and most enduring traditions for promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Participants will experience simple, evidence-informed yoga practices designed to enhance relaxation, mindfulness, flexibility, and overall wellness-an ideal way to begin the day before the scientific sessions.

Duration: Approximately 1 hour

Participants are requested to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing or athletic wear that allows free movement. Light, breathable fabrics are recommended. Yoga is traditionally practiced barefoot; therefore, participants should be prepared to remove their footwear before entering the Yoga Hall.

Yoga Mats: Yoga mats will be provided by the Department of Integrative Medicine.
